Child Protection and Child in Need Social Worker – Hackney

Location: Hackney
Pay: £38.50 per hour

Working Arrangement: 2 days a week in the office

Hackney’s Child Protection and Child in Need team is seeking a dedicated Social Worker to join their team. This is a great opportunity to work with families and young people to bring about meaningful change.

Key Responsibilities:

• Managing a varied caseload of Child Protection and Child in Need cases, conducting assessments and interventions

• Developing and reviewing Child in Need and Child Protection Plans

• Undertaking Section 47 investigations and working closely with partner agencies

• Attending court when necessary and providing evidence-based reports

• Chairing and contributing to multi-agency meetings, including core groups and child protection conferences

• Supporting families through crisis situations and implementing safety plans

• Ensuring all case records and documentation are accurate and up to date

Requirements:

• Social Work England registration

• Minimum of 2 years’ post-qualifying experience in Child Protection and Child in Need work

• Strong assessment and decision-making skills

• Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team

• Experience in preparing reports for child protection conferences and court proceedings

• Thorough knowledge of child safeguarding legislation, policies, and procedures

• Proven ability to build relationships with children and families to promote positive change
