About the Role
Brent Council is looking for an experienced Social Worker to join their Child Protection & Court Team on a locum basis. This is a fast-paced, frontline position where you’ll work with children and families at the highest level of safeguarding, managing complex cases and contributing to court proceedings.
You’ll carry out assessments, support families through crisis, complete court statements, and work closely with legal services to ensure decision-making is timely, child-focused, and based on strong analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of Child Protection and Court-related cases.
- Complete Child & Family Assessments, Section 47 investigations, and safety planning.
- Prepare high-quality court statements and care plans.
- Attend court hearings and work directly with legal teams.
- Engage in direct work with children, ensuring their voices shape all decisions.
- Collaborate closely with health, education, police, and partner agencies.
- Maintain strong, accurate case recording and evidence-based practice.
