Pay Rate: £35 per hour

About the Role

Derbyshire County Council is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join its Child Protection Team.
You will work with children and families where safeguarding concerns have been identified, ensuring timely and effective interventions that protect children while supporting families to make positive changes.

This role involves managing complex safeguarding cases, completing high-quality assessments, and working closely with multi-agency partners to achieve the best outcomes for children and young people.


Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake Section 47 enquiries and Child and Family Assessments.
  • Manage a caseload of Child in Need and Child Protection cases.
  • Develop clear and effective safety and support plans.
  • Work collaboratively with partner agencies including education, health, and police.
  • Complete direct work with children to ensure their voice is central to decision-making.
  • Prepare professional reports for conferences, reviews, and court where required.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records in line with statutory guidance.
