Our client is looking for a dedicated and passionate individual to join their team in Somerset. The successful candidate will have a strong background in social work, particularly in the field of children in care. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a comprehensive social work service for looking after children, their families and carers.
The ideal candidate will have a professional qualification in Social Work, or equivalent, and be registered with SWE. Experience working in a similar role is essential, as is a thorough knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations and practice standards. The successful candidate will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to build effective relationships, and the ability to make tough decisions in challenging situations.
Role: Social Worker
Rate: £38/hr
Office Committment: Flexible

The role will involve:
- Working with looked after children and their families to ensure they are safe and well cared for.
- Developing and implementing care plans for looked after children.
- Liaising with other agencies and professionals, such as the police, health professionals and solicitors.
- Assessing and monitoring the progress of looked after children in care.
- Providing advice and guidance to social workers, foster carers, and other professionals.
- Attending court proceedings and providing reports and evidence.
- Working within relevant legislation, regulations, and practice standards.
