Salary: £40,369 – £43,686 per annum (+£6,000 Welcome Bonus)

Sheldon Phillips are working with Northampton Children’s Trust who are seeking a Court Social Worker to join their Children in Care service. The team provides oversight for all children in care in Northamptonshire, including those subject to legal proceedings and those with a long-term care plan. This is a busy but highly rewarding role where you will be empowered to make good professional decisions, with a permanent, supportive, and inclusive management team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Hold a caseload of children in care, including those in court proceedings
-
Conduct clear, accurate assessments and prepare robust court statements and care plans
-
Attend and represent the Trust at court – confident to attend independently when required
-
Build and maintain strong, meaningful relationships with children, families, and carers
-
Coordinate multi-agency work to achieve positive outcomes
-
Plan effectively for the future of each child, ensuring their voice is central to decision-making
-
Maintain high-quality case recording in line with statutory requirements

Social Work qualification

Proven post-qualified experience, including significant court work

Skilled in safeguarding, care planning, and multi-agency collaboration

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work at pace while maintaining high standards
