Social Worker – Children in Care Team – Barnsley
Location: Barnsley Council
Pay/Salary: up to £35 per hour
Office Working: 3 Days per week
Contract: Locum
We are currently working with Barnsley Council to find an experienced Social Worker for their Children in care team in Children’s Services. With a stable management team and a mostly permanent workforce, Barnsley are looking for someone with solid experience to be able to pick up a caseload and support their service.
Duties
- Manage a caseload of Children in Care, supporting their well-being, stability and progress against Care Plans
- Completing statutory visits within required timescales
- Long term engagement with families, including direct work with children and young people, ensuring the child’s voice is captured
- Preparing high-quality reports for LAC reviews
- Undertaking proceedings and court work
- Leading multi-agency working with education, health, and partner agencies – such as foster carers, and residential providers
- Supporting the transitions of children leaving care, including pathway planning
- Undertake all Child Protection work from the initial conference onwards
What you need
- Social Work Qualification
- Social Work England registration
- Enhanced DBS (provided by us)
