Sheldon Phillips are working in partnership with Bury Council to recruit a Social Worker to join their Children with Disabilities Team on a locum basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for a practitioner who is passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs and their families.
The CWD Team in Bury is well-established, well-resourced and benefits from clear leadership and a strong multi-agency ethos. With hybrid working (2 days at home per week) and £38 per hour, this is a flexible, rewarding opportunity for a skilled practitioner looking for a stable locum role.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Hold a caseload of children with complex disabilities aged 0–18
-
Undertake statutory assessments, care planning, and reviews

Work in partnership with families, schools, health professionals and short break providers

Support children subject to Child in Need, Child Protection, and Looked After processes

Develop and review Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) where relevant

Provide transition planning into adult services where required

Ensure timely, clear recording and evidence-based decision-making

Promote inclusion, independence, and positive outcomes for children with additional needs
Requirements:

Social Work England (SWE) Registration
-
Recognised Social Work qualification
-
Post-qualified experience in Children’s Services (CWD experience desirable)

Good working knowledge of disability services, safeguarding, and multi-agency planning
-
A flexible, proactive and compassionate approach
