Social Worker – Children with Disabilities

Bury St Edmunds (West Suffolk House) | Locum | £35–£39 per hour (Umbrella) | Hybrid Working (Minimum 3 Days Office-Based)

West Suffolk is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join their Children with Disabilities (CWD) Service. You’ll support children and young people with complex needs, carrying out high-quality assessments, care planning, and direct work to ensure they receive the right support at the right time.

In this role, you’ll work closely with families, education, health partners, and specialist services to promote positive outcomes, independence, and safety for children with disabilities. You’ll manage a varied caseload and undertake visits, with a strong team presence in the office most days. A minimum of 3 days per week in the office/attending visits is expected, with some flexibility to 2 days per week by agreement.

What You’ll Need:

  • Social Work England Registration
  • Social Work Qualification
  • Experience working with children and families; disabilities experience is highly desirable
  • Strong assessment, communication, and multi-agency working skills
  • Ability to manage risk and maintain high-quality case records
  • Flexibility to attend the office and undertake visits as required by the service
