Pay Rate: £29.03 per hour
Hours: 37 per week

About the Role

Derbyshire County Council is seeking a committed Social Worker to join its Children with Disabilities (CWD) Team. This role involves supporting children and young people with complex needs and disabilities, ensuring they receive the right services, tailored support, and safeguarding interventions where necessary.

You’ll work closely with children, families, carers, education providers, and health services to develop person-centred plans that promote independence, safety, and wellbeing.


Key Responsibilities

  • Complete assessments under the Children Act, including Section 17 assessments.
  • Manage a caseload of children with disabilities and complex needs.
  • Work closely with health, education, and voluntary sector partners.
  • Undertake safeguarding work including Child Protection enquiries where appropriate.
  • Develop and review support plans and packages of care.
  • Ensure the child’s voice and lived experience remain central to practice.
  • Maintain accurate, timely case records and prepare high-quality reports.
