Pay Rate: £33.30 per hour

About the Role

Derbyshire County Council is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join its Children with Disabilities (CWD) Team. This specialist role involves working with children and young people with additional and complex needs, ensuring they receive high-quality assessments, tailored support, and appropriate safeguarding where required.

You will work closely with children, families, carers, and partner agencies to deliver effective, child-centred interventions and support positive outcomes.


Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake assessments and care planning for children with disabilities.
  • Manage Children in Need and safeguarding cases where appropriate.
  • Carry out direct work with children and families, ensuring the child’s voice is central.
  • Work collaboratively with health, education, and specialist disability services.
  • Prepare clear, analytical reports for reviews, panels, and statutory processes.
  • Maintain accurate and timely case records in line with statutory requirements.
  • Contribute to reflective practice and team learning.
