Social Worker – Children with Disabilities Team

Pay Rate: Up to £40.58 per hour
Hours: 37 per week (3 days per week in the office)

About the Role

Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join its Children with Disabilities (CWD) Team.
This role focuses on supporting children and young people with complex physical, learning, and developmental needs, ensuring they receive the right care, safeguarding, and tailored support packages to help them thrive.

You will work closely with families, schools, health professionals, and multi-agency partners to develop care plans that promote safety, independence, and high-quality outcomes for children and young people.


Key Responsibilities

  • Complete statutory assessments under the Children Act, including Section 17 assessments.
  • Hold and manage a diverse caseload of children with disabilities and complex needs.
  • Work collaboratively with families, education, and health colleagues.
  • Undertake safeguarding work, including Child Protection enquiries where required.
  • Develop, implement, and review care and support plans.
  • Ensure the voice of the child is central to all planning and decision-making.
  • Maintain accurate and timely case recordings and prepare high-quality reports.
