Job Overview:

Are you a skilled and dedicated Social Worker with experience in Duty and Assessment? We are seeking a motivated Social Worker to join our Duty and Assessment team in Central England. This locum role offers a competitive hourly rate of £38.00 and includes a travel allowance of £150 per week for those living more than 60 miles away.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Initial Assessments: Conduct thorough and timely initial assessments of children and families referred to the service.
  • Risk Analysis: Evaluate risks and needs, making informed decisions to ensure the safety and well-being of children.
  • Crisis Intervention: Provide immediate intervention and support in crisis situations to safeguard children and support families.
  • Multi-Agency Collaboration: Work closely with other professionals and agencies to ensure a coordinated and comprehensive response to referrals.
  • Case Management: Manage a dynamic caseload, ensuring timely follow-up and progression of cases.
  • Report Writing: Maintain accurate and detailed records, preparing reports for case conferences, court proceedings, and other relevant meetings.
  • Safeguarding: Uphold and promote safeguarding policies and procedures to protect vulnerable children and families.

Requirements:

  • Social Work England (SWE) registration is essential.
  • Proven experience in duty and assessment roles within children's services.
  • Strong assessment, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage a fast-paced and varied caseload effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working collaboratively with multi-agency partners.
  • Commitment to promoting the safety and well-being of children.
