Ealing Council is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Child Protection Advisor to join its Children’s Services on a locum basis. This is a senior-level role suited to an advanced practitioner with extensive safeguarding experience, offering an excellent rate and the opportunity to influence frontline practice, quality assurance, and service improvement.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert advice and consultation on complex safeguarding and child protection cases
- Quality assure assessments, child protection plans, and court documentation
- Support and challenge frontline social work practice to ensure high standards
- Contribute to service improvement, audit activity, and learning development
- Support managers and practitioners with risk management and decision-making
- Represent the local authority in complex multi-agency safeguarding forums
Candidate Requirements
- Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration (essential)
- Extensive experience within Child Protection / Safeguarding Services
- Proven ability to operate at senior practitioner / advisory level
- Strong understanding of statutory child protection processes, thresholds, and legislation
- Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills
