About the Role
The London Borough of Enfield is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join its Safeguarding Team on a 3-month ongoing contract.
This is a fast-paced frontline role where you will work with children and families subject to safeguarding concerns, ensuring timely and effective interventions to protect children and promote their welfare.
You will manage a varied caseload including Child Protection, Child in Need, and court work, and will be expected to hit the ground running in a well-structured and supportive team environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of children subject to Child Protection Plans and Child in Need Plans
- Undertake Section 47 investigations and safeguarding enquiries
- Complete risk assessments and develop outcome-focused care plans
- Prepare high-quality reports for court, conferences, and reviews
- Attend and contribute to strategy meetings, core groups, and child protection conferences
- Work in partnership with multi-agency professionals including health, education, and police
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case recordings
Candidate Requirements
- Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
- Experience within Safeguarding or Child Protection teams
- Strong knowledge of Children Act 1989/2004 and statutory safeguarding guidance
- Ability to manage complex caseloads and make sound decisions under pressure
- Strong assessment, communication, and report-writing skills
