Lewisham Council is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join its Fostering Team, supporting foster carers and ensuring the best outcomes for children in care. This role offers the opportunity to work within a dedicated, specialist team focused on assessment, supervision, and the ongoing development of foster placements.

Key Responsibilities
- Assess, supervise, and support foster carers to ensure high-quality placements
- Undertake Form F assessments and contribute to fostering panel reports
- Develop care and support plans to promote children’s stability and wellbeing
- Work closely with children, carers, schools, health, and wider professionals
- Contribute to the recruitment, training, and development of foster carers
Candidate Requirements
- Social Work England registration
- Experience in Fostering, Looked After Children, or Safeguarding services
- Strong assessment, communication, and report-writing skills
- Knowledge of fostering regulations and permanency planning
- Commitment to promoting stability and positive outcomes for children
