Social Worker – Fostering Team

Pay Rate: £26.06 per hour
Hours: 37 hours per week

About the Role

Derbyshire County Council is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join its Fostering Team. This role focuses on supporting foster carers and ensuring children in foster placements experience stability, safety, and positive outcomes.

You will work closely with foster carers, children, and partner agencies to provide high-quality supervision, support, and assessment, contributing to strong and sustainable fostering placements.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support and supervise foster carers, providing guidance and professional advice.
  • Complete fostering assessments, reviews, and support plans.
  • Undertake direct work with children in foster care where appropriate.
  • Work collaboratively with children’s social workers, IROs, and partner agencies.
  • Prepare clear, analytical reports for panels, reviews, and meetings.
  • Maintain accurate and timely case recording in line with statutory requirements.
