The London Borough of Hackney is seeking a skilled Child Protection Social Worker to join their dynamic team. This role offers the chance to make a significant impact on the lives of vulnerable children and families within a supportive and forward-thinking local authority.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of complex Child Protection (CP) and Child in Need (CIN) cases, ensuring all children and families receive the highest standard of care and support.

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments, including Section 47 investigations, to identify risks and implement effective safeguarding measures.

  • Develop and implement child protection plans in collaboration with families and multi-agency partners.

  • Prepare and present reports for child protection conferences, court proceedings, and other statutory meetings.

  • Work closely with other professionals, including health, education, and police, to ensure a coordinated approach to safeguarding.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records in accordance with statutory requirements and Hackney's policies.

Essential Requirements:

  • Social Work England Registration: You must be registered with Social Work England.

  • UK Experience: A minimum of 2 years post-qualified experience as a Social Worker in a Child in Need/Child Protection team within the UK.

  • Expertise in Child Protection: Proven experience in managing CP and CIN cases, conducting assessments, and developing protection plans.

  • Strong Communication Skills: Ability to effectively engage with children, families, and multi-agency partners.
