Are you a Qualified Social Worker looking for an exciting and dynamic role within adult social care? Barnsley Local Authority is seeking an experienced and passionate professional to join our Adult Social Care Initial Response Team. This role offers a competitive rate of up to £35 per hour and provides a unique opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable adults in our community.
About the Role:
As an Advanced Social Work Practitioner in our Initial Response Team, you will play a crucial role in managing the allocation of incoming work, making safeguarding decisions, and supporting team members through supervision and guidance. You’ll be a central part of ensuring that our Initial Response Team functions smoothly and efficiently, with responsibilities that include:
Triage of Incoming Work: Assess and prioritise adult social care referrals to ensure urgent cases are identified and promptly addressed.
Safeguarding Decision Making: Make informed safeguarding decisions to ensure the safety and well-being of vulnerable adults.
Allocation of Work: Distribute cases among team members based on skills and workload, ensuring balanced and efficient caseloads.
Supervision and Support: Provide both informal and formal supervision to team members, offering guidance and feedback to support their development.
Team Management: Oversee day-to-day operations within the Initial Response Team, ensuring all processes run effectively.
This role involves working closely with South Yorkshire Police, particularly in reviewing DASH and Vulnerable Adults referrals. Familiarity with the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, and local and national policies, as well as a commitment to equal opportunity and anti-oppressive practices, is essential.
