Social Worker – UASC Service – Canterbury

Location: Kent County Council – Canterbury Office

Pay/Salary: up to £38 per hour

Office Working: 5 Days per week (Office Based)

Contract: Locum

We are currently working with Kent County Council to find an experienced Social Worker for their UASC (Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children) Service based in the Canterbury office. With a supportive management team and established service, they are looking for someone with relevant experience to manage a caseload and support young people.


Duties

  • Manage a caseload of Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC), supporting their safety, welfare and care planning
  • Complete statutory visits and assessments within required timescales
  • Build long-term relationships with young people, ensuring their views are heard
  • Prepare high-quality reports for reviews and meetings
  • Undertake court work and legal proceedings where required
  • Work closely with education, health, immigration professionals, foster carers and partner agencies
  • Support pathway planning and transitions to independence
  • Undertake safeguarding and child protection responsibilities where required

What you need

  • Social Work Qualification
  • Social Work England registration
  • Enhanced DBS (provided by us)
