Contract: 3 months+
Hours: 37 hours per week
Pay Rate: £35 per hour
Location: Vermuyden Centre, DN8 4BQ
Start Date: ASAP
Working Pattern: Hybrid – 3 days in office, 2 days remote

Sheldon Phillips are working with Doncaster Council to recruit an experienced Social Worker to join the LocalitiesTeam, based at the Vermuyden Centre. This is a frontline role focused on safeguarding and assessment work with children and families across the East Locality. Doncaster offers a supportive team culture and excellent hybrid working arrangements.
 

What You Can Expect:

  • Strong management support and regular supervision

  • Stable and well-structured team with consistent caseloads

  • Hybrid working (3 office-based days, 2 remote)

  • Office base easily accessible with on-site parking
     

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Undertaking assessments and section 47 enquiries

  • Managing complex caseloads across CIN, CP, and PLO pathways

  • Working closely with partner agencies and professionals

  • Preparing court reports and attending proceedings when required

  • Maintaining up-to-date and high-quality case records
     

Requirements:

  • Social Work England registration

  • Recognised Social Work qualification

  • At least 2 years’ post-qualified experience in children’s services

  • Strong safeguarding, assessment, and report-writing skills

  • Confidence in multi-agency and court work

  • Flexible, reliable and committed to high-quality practice
