About the Role

Are you a dedicated and qualified Social Worker looking to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) team? Devon Local Authority is seeking experienced social workers to join our team, where you will play a vital role in safeguarding children and supporting families. In this role, you’ll work collaboratively with professionals from a range of disciplines to assess risks, make informed decisions, and ensure the best outcomes for vulnerable individuals in our community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct timely assessments and make decisions regarding safeguarding referrals within the MASH team.

  • Collaborate closely with partner agencies to gather and share information, assessing risk and making decisions that prioritize children’s safety and well-being.

  • Utilize your expertise to provide informed recommendations and manage complex cases with sensitivity and professionalism.

  • Work effectively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure a holistic approach to safeguarding.

  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive records, ensuring compliance with legislative and organizational standards.

Benefits and Working Arrangement

  • Flexible Working: Enjoy the flexibility of remote working, with an expectation to attend the office in Devon at least 2 days per week.

  • Competitive Pay: Earn up to £44 per hour, reflecting the value we place on your expertise and dedication.

  • Accommodation/Commuter Allowance: For interim staff residing over 50 miles from the work base, an allowance of up to £150 per week is available to assist with accommodation or travel costs (evidence required).

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Qualified Social Worker with HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council) registration.

  • Proven experience in child protection and safeguarding, ideally within a MASH or similar setting.

  • Strong communication, analytical, and decision-making skills.

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a high-pressure environment.
