Social Worker - MASH

Position: Qualified Social Worker
Team: Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH)
Contract: Locum
Hours: 37 hours per week
Pay Rate: Up to £37.50 per hour
Location: Loxley House, Nottingham
Start Date: ASAP
Working Pattern: Fully Office Based

Sheldon Phillips are working with Nottingham City Council to recruit an experienced Qualified Social Worker to join their MASH Service. This is an excellent opportunity to work at the frontline of safeguarding, supporting the timely assessment and triage of referrals to ensure children and young people receive the right level of intervention.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Receive and analyse safeguarding referrals from partner agencies

  • Undertake risk assessments and make threshold decisions in line with local procedures

  • Liaise with Police, Health, and Education partners to share and gather relevant information

  • Record decisions accurately and promptly on the council’s case management system

  • Contribute to strategy discussions and support timely responses to safeguarding concerns

  • Ensure that all decisions are child-focused and evidence-based

Requirements:

  • SWE Registration

  • Social Work qualification

  • Post-qualified experience within MASH, Assessment, or Safeguarding services

  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills

  • Excellent communication and multi-agency working abilities

  • Ability to work confidently in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment
