Northamptonshire Children’s Trust delivers children’s services across the county with a strong focus on improving outcomes for vulnerable children and young people. The service places emphasis on reflective supervision, manageable caseloads, and continuous professional development to ensure social workers are supported to deliver high-quality practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of children subject to Child in Need and Child Protection plans
- Undertake Section 47 investigations and safeguarding enquiries
- Complete statutory visits, assessments, and care planning within timescales
- Prepare high-quality reports for child protection conferences and court proceedings
- Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to safeguard children
- Maintain accurate and timely case recording in line with statutory requirements
Candidate Requirements
- Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
- Experience within Safeguarding / Child Protection services
- Strong understanding of UK child protection legislation and statutory guidance
- Excellent assessment, analytical, and report-writing skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced frontline environment
