Nottingham City Council is recruiting an experienced Social Worker to join its Safeguarding Service on a locum basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a committed practitioner looking for flexibility while working within a supportive and well-structured safeguarding team.

The service promotes strong multi-agency working, reflective supervision, and manageable caseloads to ensure social workers are well supported in achieving positive outcomes for children and families.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing a caseload of children subject to Child Protection Plans and Children in Need
- Completing statutory safeguarding assessments and Section 47 enquiries
- Preparing clear, analytical reports for case conferences, core groups, and court
- Undertaking direct work with children and families to reduce risk
- Working closely with partner agencies to safeguard and promote children’s welfare
- Maintaining accurate and timely case recordings in line with statutory guidance
Candidate Requirements
- Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
- Recent experience within a Safeguarding / Child Protection team
- Good understanding of relevant legislation, policy, and court processes
- Ability to work confidently in a fast-paced frontline environment
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain)
