This structure allows social workers to specialise in assessment work, maintain clear service pathways, and deliver focused interventions that support children and families from the outset.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake Child and Family Assessments in line with statutory requirements.
- Complete comprehensive risk assessments and safety planning.
- Manage referrals received through Children's Social Care and undertake timely interventions.
- Carry out Section 17 and Section 47 enquiries where required.
- Work directly with children and families to identify strengths, risks, and support needs.
- Develop outcome-focused plans and recommendations for ongoing services.
- Liaise effectively with partner agencies, including education, health, police, and early help services.
- Present cases and recommendations at legal planning meetings, strategy discussions, and multi-agency forums.
- Ensure high-quality case recording, assessment writing, and statutory compliance.
- Promote safeguarding and ensure children's voices remain central to all decision-making.
Candidate Requirements
- Qualified Social Worker with a recognised Social Work qualification.
- Registered with the Social Work England.
- Experience within Assessment, Safeguarding, Child Protection, CIN, or Front Door services.
- Strong assessment and analytical skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced statutory environment.
- Excellent communication and report-writing abilities.
- Commitment to achieving positive outcomes for children and families.
For Senior Social Worker applicants:
- Demonstrable experience managing complex cases.
- Ability to support and mentor less experienced practitioners.
- Strong understanding of risk management, court work, and safeguarding processes.
