London Borough of Bexley are looking for Social Workers to join their Referral and Assessment Service.
This is a Full-Time Locum Social Work role.
About The Team:
Your role within this team is to protect children by assessing the level of risk and need of referred children and determine the appropriate response before handing on to a longer-term team or other service responsible for case management.
This team will focus on skilled, immediate investigation of referrals to ascertain what level of ongoing social care service is likely to be needed, for example quick resolution, diversion or prevention services or ongoing need for social care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Use the Signs of Safety practice model to assess risks and improve outcomes for children and families.
- Engage respectfully with children and families in diverse, complex situations.
- Apply relevant social work theories and collaborate with family and professional networks.
- Coordinate and implement child protection plans and regularly assess children’s needs.
- Manage cases and ensure compliance with laws, policies, and local safeguarding procedures.
- Lead meetings with family and professional members.
- Maintain up-to-date case documentation, reports, and assessments.
- Participate in regular supervision and reflect on feedback to improve practice.
About You:
- Knowledge of childcare legislation, statutory guidance and working together to safeguarding children.
- Car Driver and Access to a vehicle is required.
- BA(Hons) in Social Work and to be registered with Social Work England (SWE).
