Are you a compassionate and dedicated Social Worker looking for an opportunity to make a real difference in children's lives? Dorset County Council is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join our Looking After Children (LAC) Team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work directly with children and young people in care, ensuring their needs are met and they are supported to thrive.
- Develop care plans that focus on positive outcomes and long-term well-being for the children and young people in our care.
- Liaise with foster carers, family members, and other professionals to create a safe and supportive environment for each child.
- Attend reviews, case conferences, and multi-agency meetings.
- Ensure compliance with legal frameworks and statutory guidance.
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive records and reports for court proceedings and other statutory processes.
Requirements:
- Qualified Social Worker with a recognised Social Work degree (or equivalent).
- Current registration with Social Work England.
- Previous experience working within a Children’s Services team, preferably in a LAC setting.
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and best practices surrounding the care of looked-after children.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage a caseload effectively, prioritising tasks to meet deadlines.
