The Role
Ealing Council is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join its Safeguarding Service on a locum basis. This role involves working with children and families where there are ongoing child protection and complex safeguarding concerns.
You will manage cases through Child Protection and Child in Need plans, undertaking direct work, assessments, and multi-agency coordination to ensure children are safeguarded and supported effectively.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of children subject to Child Protection and Child in Need plans
- Complete high-quality assessments and interventions
- Undertake direct work with children and families to reduce risk
- Lead and contribute to child protection conferences and core groups
- Work collaboratively with partner agencies to safeguard children
- Prepare clear, analytical reports and recordings
- Ensure practice is compliant with statutory guidance and local procedures
Candidate Requirements
- Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
- Proven experience within a Safeguarding or Child Protection team
- Strong assessment, analytical, and report-writing skills
- Confident managing risk and complex safeguarding cases
- Sound knowledge of relevant legislation and statutory guidance
- Ability to work effectively within a multi-agency environment
