Location: Dorset - Blandford
Pay: Up to £38 per hour
Contract: Full-time Locum

Are you an experienced Social Worker seeking a role where your work truly makes a difference? Join the Child Protection Team in Dorset and play a vital part in safeguarding children and supporting families in one of the UK’s most scenic coastal counties.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Manage a caseload of Child Protection and complex Children in Need cases

  • Prepare high-quality reports and attend court as required

  • Act as lead practitioner, ensuring child-centred, timely, and effective interventions

  • Work collaboratively with adult services, education, and health professionals

  • Address extra-familial risks, applying a holistic approach to safeguarding

  • Use motivational interviewing techniques to build meaningful relationships with children and families

Requirements:

  • Qualified Social Worker (BA/MA Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent)

  • Registration with Social Work England

  • Enhanced DBS on the update service

  • Solid experience in child protection, court work, and multidisciplinary working

  • A team player with a positive attitude, resilience, and a commitment to best practice
