Location: Kent County Council, North Kent
Hourly Rate: Up to £38 per hour
Contract: Locum, Full-Time

We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Locum Social Worker to join our Children with Disabilities (CWD) Team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people with disabilities and their families.

About the Role
As a Social Worker in the Children with Disabilities (CWD) Team, you will work with children and families to ensure that children with disabilities receive the support and protection they need. You will carry out assessments, develop care plans, and provide ongoing support to children, young people, and their families to meet their needs.

This is a challenging and rewarding role where you will work closely with families, partner agencies, and professionals to provide tailored support for children with complex needs. The role will require you to manage your caseload effectively while ensuring high standards of social work practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out assessments of children with disabilities, ensuring that their needs and risks are identified and appropriately addressed
  • Develop and implement child-centred care plans, ensuring the safety and well-being of children and young people
  • Work collaboratively with families, carers, and partner agencies to deliver effective interventions
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to families, ensuring they have access to the resources they need
  • Attend and contribute to multi-disciplinary meetings and reviews
  • Ensure that all casework is documented in accordance with statutory requirements and organizational policies

About You
We are looking for a qualified Social Worker with experience working with children with disabilities.

You should be able to demonstrate:

  • A strong understanding of Children's Social Care legislation and safeguarding procedures
  • Previous experience working in a Children with Disabilities (CWD) team or in a similar role
  • The ability to build effective relationships with children, families, and partner agencies
  • Strong assessment and report-writing skills
  • A proactive, compassionate, and child-focused approach to social work
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work under pressure
  • A commitment to working in a multi-disciplinary team
