Social Worker – Children’s Assessment Team

Lambeth | Locum | £39.04 per hour | Hybrid Working

Lambeth Council is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join their Children’s Assessment Team. This is a fast-paced frontline role where you will complete timely assessments, respond to safeguarding concerns, and ensure children and families receive the right support at the right time.

You will work closely with children, families, and partner agencies to assess needs, manage risk, and develop clear plans that safeguard children and promote positive outcomes.

In this role, you will:

  • Undertake Child and Family Assessments within statutory timescales
  • Respond to new referrals and safeguarding concerns
  • Conduct Section 47 enquiries and risk assessments where required
  • Work directly with children and families to understand their needs and circumstances
  • Develop outcome-focused plans to ensure children’s safety and wellbeing
  • Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners including police, health, and education
  • Maintain accurate and high-quality case recordings and reports

What You’ll Need:

  • Social Work England Registration
  • Social Work Qualification
  • At least 3 years’ post-qualified experience in children’s social care
  • Experience within Assessment, Duty, or Front Door services
  • Strong assessment, analytical, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to manage risk and work in a fast-paced statutory environment
