Social Worker – Children’s First Contact Service
Location: Sutton Council
Rate: £35.00 per hour

Sutton Council is seeking an experienced and dedicated Locum Social Worker to join its Children’s First Contact Service. This role involves processing referrals received from multiple agencies and the community, ensuring that children and families in need receive timely and appropriate support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing and processing referrals from multi-agency partners and the community
  • Assessing and responding to referrals promptly, prioritising the safety and well-being of children
  • Working collaboratively with professionals across social care, education, and health to ensure the best outcomes for children
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and council policies
  • Maintaining accurate case records and providing reports as required

Requirements:

  • Qualified Social Worker with current HCPC registration
  • Experience working in children's services, particularly within first contact teams or referral processes
  • Strong communication and assessment skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • A solid understanding of relevant legislation, safeguarding protocols, and best practices
