Hampshire County Council is seeking a skilled and compassionate Social Worker to join the Family Help team in Havant. This is a unique opportunity to work in an innovative service designed to support families at an early stage, reduce risk, and prevent the need for statutory intervention.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide early and targeted help to families facing emerging challenges

  • Build strong, consistent relationships with children and parents

  • Complete strengths-based assessments and create SMART, child-focused plans

  • Work closely with partner agencies, including schools, health, and community services

  • Support families to access services and develop protective networks

  • Record high-quality, timely casework and outcomes

Candidate Requirements

  • Social Work England registration

  • Minimum of 2 years’ post-qualified experience in children’s services

  • Understanding of Early Help, family support, and relationship-based practice

  • Confident in delivering direct work and coordinating multi-agency responses

  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to complete one)
