Hampshire County Council is seeking a skilled and compassionate Social Worker to join the Family Help team in Havant. This is a unique opportunity to work in an innovative service designed to support families at an early stage, reduce risk, and prevent the need for statutory intervention.

Key Responsibilities

Provide early and targeted help to families facing emerging challenges

Build strong, consistent relationships with children and parents
-
Complete strengths-based assessments and create SMART, child-focused plans
-
Work closely with partner agencies, including schools, health, and community services
-
Support families to access services and develop protective networks
-
Record high-quality, timely casework and outcomes
Candidate Requirements
-
Social Work England registration
-
Minimum of 2 years’ post-qualified experience in children’s services
-
Understanding of Early Help, family support, and relationship-based practice
-
Confident in delivering direct work and coordinating multi-agency responses
-
Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to complete one)
