Sutton | Locum | £39.04 per hour | Hybrid Working
Sutton Council is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join their Looked After Children Team. This role focuses on achieving stability, permanence, and positive long-term outcomes for children and young people in care.
You will manage a caseload of looked after children, ensuring high-quality care planning, statutory compliance, and effective partnership working to support children to thrive.
In this role, you will:
- Manage a caseload of Looked After Children
- Undertake statutory visits and reviews in line with regulations
- Develop and progress permanence plans, including reunification, long-term fostering, SGO, or adoption
- Prepare high-quality reports for LAC reviews and court where required
- Work closely with carers, families, schools, and partner agencies
- Support children and young people to achieve positive educational and emotional outcomes
- Maintain accurate and analytical case recordings
What You’ll Need:
- Social Work England Registration
- Social Work Qualification
- At least 3 years’ post-qualified experience in children’s social care
- Experience working within a Looked After Children team
- Strong knowledge of care planning and permanency processes
- Excellent assessment, analytical, and report-writing skills
