Position: Social Worker – Referral and Assessment Team
Hourly Rate: £37.00 per hour

 

Achieving for Children is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join their Referral and Assessment Team in Kingston and Richmond. This exciting role offers a fantastic opportunity to work with children and families in a supportive and dynamic environment, helping to shape positive outcomes for vulnerable young people.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake child protection investigations and contribute to safety and contingency planning for children and young people
  • Build strong, respectful relationships with children, families, their support networks, and partner agencies to improve outcomes
  • Manage complex cases involving court work and pre-proceedings, ensuring the best interests of children are at the heart of decision-making
  • Contribute to the management of the team, deputising for team leaders as needed and providing guidance to ASYE (Assessed and Supported Year in Employment) social workers or students
  • Ensure that children and young people are actively involved in the decision-making process and that their voices are clearly reflected in case records
  • Participate in reflective supervision and group supervision to promote professional growth and team development

Essential Experience:

  • Experience in child protection investigations, safety planning, and managing complex cases
  • Court work and pre-proceedings experience is highly desirable
  • Ability to build relationships with families and agencies in a professional and empathetic manner
  • Knowledge of legislation and best practices in safeguarding children
  • Experience in team management and potentially supervising less experienced social workers or students
