We are looking for dedicated and passionate Social Workers to join our Children’s Social Work Team. You will play a vital role in safeguarding children and promoting their well-being, making a real difference to their futures.
Role Overview
As a Social Worker within the Children’s Social Work Team, you will be responsible for managing a caseload of children in need, those subject to child protection plans, and those in care. You will work collaboratively with families, carers, and other professionals to assess the needs of children, implement care plans, and ensure their safety and development. This is an excellent opportunity for a social work professional to join a supportive and dynamic team, with opportunities for career progression and continuous development.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of children in need, children on child protection plans, and children in care, ensuring timely interventions and safeguarding.
- Carry out thorough assessments, including Child and Family Assessments, and develop effective care plans that address the needs of children and their families.
- Work in partnership with families, carers, and multi-agency professionals to support children’s well-being and safety.
- Attend and contribute to child protection conferences, case reviews, and court proceedings.
- Ensure all records are accurate and up-to-date, complying with statutory and local authority requirements.
- Provide support and guidance to children and families to promote resilience and reduce the need for long-term intervention.
- Participate in reflective supervision and ongoing professional development to enhance your practice.
Requirements
- Degree in Social Work (or equivalent) and Social Work England registration.
- Previous experience in a children’s social care setting is desirable, but newly qualified social workers are also encouraged to apply.
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to child protection and children’s social care.
- Excellent assessment, planning, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage competing demands.
