Richmond and Wandsworth Councils are recruiting experienced Senior Social Workers to join their Family Help Service on a permanent basis. This is an opportunity to work within a forward-thinking borough committed to delivering high-quality, family-centred support.
About the Role:
You will work as part of the Family Help Service, supporting children and families through early help, safeguarding, and complex care planning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage complex caseloads involving children in need, child protection, and care proceedings.
- Undertake Child and Family Assessments, Section 47 enquiries, and develop care plans.
- Lead multi-agency meetings, including case conferences and legal planning forums.
- Provide professional support and mentoring to less experienced staff.
- Apply Richmond and Wandsworth’s restorative practice model in all casework.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with children and their families.

Richmond and Wandsworth Councils use a Restorative Practice approach, working alongside families to build on their strengths while ensuring children’s safety and well-being remain at the heart of every decision.
Requirements:
- Social Work England registration
- Strong experience in safeguarding, child protection, or family support
- Confident managing complex cases and legal processes
- Skilled in building positive relationships with families and multi-agency partners
