We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Team Manager to join Medway Council's Connected Carers Fostering Team. This role offers a hybrid working model, with 2-3 days in the office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Connected Carers Team, ensuring high standards of practice in line with Medway Council's policies and procedures.

  • Oversee assessments of family and friends' carers under the Fostering Services (England) Regulations 2011 and Children Act 1989.

  • Ensure the successful completion of Special Guardianship Order (SGO) assessments in accordance with Medway Council's SGO policy.

  • Provide supervision and support to social workers within the team, ensuring their professional development and adherence to statutory requirements.

  • Manage court-related work, including preparation of reports for care proceedings.

  • Develop strong working relationships with Medway's fostering panel and ensure robust quality assurance processes are followed.

  • Maintain effective partnerships with internal services, partner agencies, and community resources to support carers and children.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.

  • Previous experience managing a fostering, connected carers, or kinship team.

  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Children Act 1989, Fostering Services (England) Regulations 2011, and Special Guardianship Regulations 2005.

  • Full UK driving license with access to a vehicle for work purposes, including business insurance that covers carrying passengers.
