We are working with Foster Careline, a well-established and values-driven fostering agency, to recruit a Supervising Social Worker to join their therapeutic and forward-thinking team. Role Overview

As a Supervising Social Worker, you will hold a manageable caseload of foster carers, providing high-quality supervision, guidance, and support. The role is centred on building strong relationships with fostering families while ensuring children receive safe, stable, and nurturing care.

You will work within a therapeutic framework, supported by a clinical team, and contribute to the ongoing development of carers through training, supervision, and participation activities.

This is a flexible role, with a hybrid approach to working. You will be required in the Ellesmere Port office for one duty day per week and monthly team meetings, with the remainder of your time spent working from home and visiting carers.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage, support, and supervise a caseload of foster carers
  • Undertake regular supervision visits and provide ongoing guidance and support
  • Complete Form F Assessments where required
  • Promote and embed trauma-informed and therapeutic practice
  • Participate in foster carer recruitment and assessment processes
  • Support and contribute to participation events for children and carers
  • Work collaboratively with the wider professional network and internal clinical team
  • Contribute to the out-of-hours support rota for foster carers
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records using the CHARMS system

Requirements

  • Qualified Social Worker with relevant Social Work qualification
  • Experience within fostering or children’s services
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and child development
  • Ability to build effective relationships with foster carers and professionals
  • Good written and IT skills
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
  • Right to work in the UK
