Social Worker – SWwF (Social Work with Famililes)

Location: London Borough of Croydon
Salary: £41,000 - £55,000 per annum
Bonus: £10,000 welcome bonus (once probation is complete), £8,000 relocation (if required), £2,500 retention bonus
Contract: Permanent, Extremely Flexible Hybrid Working

The London Borough of Croydon is seeking a passionate and experienced Social Worker to join their SWwF (Social Work with Families) Team. About the Role

As a Social Worker in the SWwF Team, you will provide high-quality, proactive, and evidence-based interventions to children and families, working to ensure the best possible outcomes for those you support. You will collaborate with multi-agency partners to address safeguarding concerns and offer the right solutions to families, ensuring their safety, stability, and well-being.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of families, providing high-quality social work interventions and developing child protection and safeguarding plans.
• Assess children and families' needs and provide tailored support, ensuring children’s voices are at the heart of decision-making.
• Work closely with partner agencies, including schools, health professionals, and police, to ensure holistic support for families.
• Develop and implement care plans, safeguarding strategies, and interventions in line with statutory requirements.
• Attend and represent the team in meetings, including child protection conferences and family support meetings.
• Maintain detailed and accurate case records, ensuring compliance with Croydon’s policies and procedures.
• Participate in supervision and reflective practice sessions, contributing to your own professional development and team support.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Social Worker in the UK, preferably in children’s services.
• Strong knowledge of child protection, safeguarding, and care planning.
• Excellent communication and decision-making skills.
• Registered with Social Work England (SWE).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing a varied and complex caseload.
