About the Role
As a Team Manager within the Fostering Service, you'll provide leadership, management, and professional oversight to a team of social workers and fostering practitioners. You'll be responsible for ensuring high-quality assessments, supervision, and support for foster carers, while maintaining excellent standards of practice across the service.
Working closely with senior leaders and partner agencies, you'll drive service improvements, support placement stability, and ensure children receive the best possible care through well-supported fostering arrangements.
This role is ideal for an experienced fostering leader who is passionate about developing practitioners, improving outcomes, and creating positive experiences for children and carers.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and manage a team of fostering social workers and practitioners.
• Provide effective supervision, support, and performance management.
• Oversee fostering assessments, annual reviews, and connected persons assessments.
• Ensure compliance with fostering regulations, legislation, and national minimum standards.
• Promote placement stability and positive outcomes for children in care.
• Contribute to service development, quality assurance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Work collaboratively with fostering panels, partner agencies, and internal teams.
• Monitor performance, caseloads, and service delivery to ensure high standards are maintained.

Requirements
• Social Work degree or equivalent qualification.
• Social Work England registration.
• Significant post-qualifying experience within fostering services.
• Previous management, supervisory, or senior practitioner experience.
• Strong understanding of fostering legislation, regulations, and care planning.
• Experience leading and developing social work practitioners.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
