We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Social Work Team Manager to join a dynamic Children with Disabilities Team at an East Midlands Local Authority. This is a fantastic locum opportunity for 12 months, offering a hybrid working model with the flexibility to manage your time between home and the office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of social workers supporting children with disabilities and complex health needs.
- Ensure the team delivers high-quality social care services, focusing on the welfare and safety of children with disabilities.
- Conduct risk assessments, particularly in cases involving challenging behaviours related to disabilities or complex health needs.
- Provide lone working support for social workers within the team, ensuring their safety and well-being during challenging cases.
- Ensure the team meets statutory requirements and delivers person-centered care in a collaborative and supportive environment.
- Work closely with other professionals, agencies, and families to create comprehensive care plans for children.
What We Are Looking For:
- Previous management experience within a Children’s Social Care setting, preferably within a Children with Disabilities team.
- A strong understanding of the challenges faced by children with disabilities and their families.
- Experience in conducting risk assessments and managing complex cases involving challenging behaviours.
- An ability to support and guide social workers in handling demanding cases, offering leadership and practical support in a hybrid work setting.
- Strong communication, decision-making, and interpersonal skills.
