This is an exciting time to join the Family Support and Protection Service in Rochdale. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Qualified Social Worker Team Manager to lead our Family Safeguarding Team. In this pivotal role, you will help shape and drive our approach to safeguarding children and supporting families.
About the Role:
The Family Support and Protection Service is dedicated to working with children and families from child in need to care proceedings. Our structure consists of 10 Family Support and Protection Teams, each led by dedicated professionals, including 2 Heads of Service and 2 Service Managers. You will be joining a team committed to implementing a family safeguarding model that ensures comprehensive support for families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a Family Safeguarding Team consisting of a Practice Manager, Advanced Practitioner, Social Workers, and Family Support Workers.
- Provide direct supervision and support to Advanced Practitioners and Social Workers, ensuring high standards of practice and adherence to safeguarding policies.
- Foster a collaborative team environment, promoting effective multi-agency partnerships, including support from drug, alcohol, and domestic abuse services.
- Oversee the delivery of assessments and intervention plans for children and families in need.
- Engage in continuous professional development and training opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
- Contribute to the development of policies and procedures that align with our family safeguarding approach.

Requirements:
- Experience: Substantial experience as a qualified social worker, ideally in a management or leadership role within children's services.
- Qualification: A degree in Social Work (or equivalent) and registration with Social Work England.
- Skills: Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and support a team effectively.
- Knowledge: Understanding of family safeguarding practices and relevant legislation.
