Social Work Team Manager - Fostering and SGO Support

Location: West Midlands

Rate: £41.42 per hour

Role: Locum, Full Time

Are you a dedicated and qualified social worker with a passion for fostering? We're seeking a dynamic and experienced Social Work Team Manager to join our Fostering Service. This locum role offers the opportunity to lead a committed team and make a significant impact on the lives of foster carers and the children they care for.

YOU MUST BE A QUALIFIED SOCIAL WORKER, WITH A SOCIAL WORK ENGLAND REGISTRATION TO APPLY. 
 

About the Role:

As our third Team Manager in the Fostering Service, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality support and supervision to foster carers. You will be instrumental in recruiting, assessing, and supporting the best carers, ensuring they are well-equipped to provide a loving and nurturing home for children in care.
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of social workers and support staff, including:
    • 4 FTE Social Workers
    • 1 FTE Senior Family Support Worker
    • 3 FTE Family Support Workers
    • 1 (18.5 hours) Finance Officer
  • Provide regular welfare and case supervision.
  • Develop specialist services for Connected Foster Carers.
  • Ensure appropriate support and annual reviews for Special Guardianship Carers.
  • Contribute to a supportive management team within a restorative local authority.
  • Access a wide range of training and development opportunities.
     

About You:

  • Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.
  • Previous management experience or demonstrated management ability.
  • Experience working with foster carers is desirable.
  • Strong commitment to delivering high-quality support and supervision.
