Job Overview:

Are you an experienced and dynamic Team Manager with a passion for supporting young people leaving care? We are seeking a dedicated Team Manager to lead our Leaving Care Service in Manchester. This locum role offers a competitive hourly rate of £45.00.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of social workers and support staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to young people leaving care.
  • Service Development: Develop and implement service plans, policies, and procedures to meet the needs of young people transitioning out of care.
  • Case Oversight: Oversee complex cases, providing guidance and support to team members to ensure effective case management.
  • Multi-Agency Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other professionals and agencies to ensure a coordinated approach to supporting young people.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation: Regularly monitor and evaluate the performance of the team, driving continuous improvement and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Safeguarding: Ensure that safeguarding policies and procedures are adhered to, promoting the safety and well-being of young people.
  • Resource Management: Manage resources effectively, ensuring that the service operates within budget and delivers value for money.
  • Professional Development: Support the professional development of team members through supervision, training, and mentoring.

Requirements:

  • Social Work England (SWE) registration is essential.
  • Proven experience as a Team Manager within a leaving care or similar service.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Excellent understanding of the challenges faced by young people leaving care and the support they need.
  • Ability to develop and implement effective service plans and policies.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with young people and stakeholders.
  • Flexibility, resilience, and the ability to work under pressure.
