With an Ofsted rating of "Outstanding", Bromley Children’s Social Care is seeking dynamic, skilled, and ambitious Team Managers to join their Safeguarding and Care Planning team, ensuring the continued success and improvement of the service.
About the Role:
The Team Manager – Safeguarding and Care Planning will be responsible for leading a dedicated team of social workers, overseeing complex casework, and providing support through contested care proceedings. The role will involve supervising, coaching, and developing staff while ensuring the highest standards of practice are upheld, helping Bromley continue its journey towards excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise complex casework to ensure that decisions are made in the best interests of children and families.
- Lead social workers through contested care proceedings, providing expert guidance and support.
- Offer coaching, mentoring, and practice teaching to foster the development of social workers.
- Oversee the team’s performance, ensuring that practice standards are raised and maintained at a high level.
- Drive continuous improvements in practice, ensuring effective service delivery.
What We’re Looking For:
- A degree or equivalent qualification in Social Care.
- Registration with Social Work England (or the ability to obtain registration before starting employment).
- Significant experience in children and families social work, with post-qualification experience in statutory, voluntary, or independent sectors.
- Proven ability to supervise complex casework and manage contested care proceedings.
- Experience of supporting, coaching, and developing social workers.
- A strong commitment to improving the lives of children and families.
