Are you an experienced Team Manager or Senior Practitioner ready to take the next step in your leadership career? Surrey County Council is seeking an accomplished Team Manager to join their Safeguarding Service based in Weybridge, leading a dedicated frontline team focused on delivering high-quality outcomes for children and families.

You’ll play a key role in driving performance, supporting staff development, and ensuring children receive timely and effective safeguarding interventions.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise, and support a team of Social Workers within the Safeguarding Service
- Oversee complex Child Protection, Child in Need, and court work cases
- Ensure high-quality assessments, plans, and interventions are delivered consistently
- Provide reflective supervision, mentoring, and performance management to team members
- Monitor team performance and ensure statutory timescales are met
- Chair meetings and contribute to strategy discussions and multi-agency planning
- Support service development and continuous improvement initiatives
Candidate Requirements
- Qualified Social Worker with a recognised Social Work qualification
- Registered with Social Work England
- Previous management or senior practitioner experience within Children’s Safeguarding services
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation and statutory frameworks
- Experience overseeing complex child protection and court proceedings work
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
