Team Manager - Children's Safeguarding - Thurrock Council
Rate: £42 per hour
Location: Thurrock
Working Arrangement: Hybrid
Thurrock Council is seeking an experienced Team Manager to join their Children’s Safeguarding Team. This is an excellent opportunity to lead a dedicated team committed to supporting vulnerable children and families, ensuring they receive the highest standard of care and protection.
Responsibilities:

Provide leadership and management to a team of social workers, offering supervision, support, and guidance.

Ensure the implementation of Thurrock's Strengths-Based Practice Model, fostering a collaborative, family-centered approach to safeguarding.

Oversee complex casework, ensuring timely and effective interventions.

Chair strategy meetings and case discussions, contributing to robust decision-making.

Maintain high standards of professional practice in line with Working Together to Safeguard Children and relevant legislation.

Collaborate with multi-agency partners, ensuring coordinated and effective responses to safeguarding concerns.

Monitor team performance, providing reflective supervision and supporting professional development.
Requirements:

Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.

Significant experience in a children’s safeguarding environment, ideally with prior management experience.

Comprehensive knowledge of child protection legislation and safeguarding procedures.

Strong leadership and decision-making skills.

Commitment to promoting Thurrock’s strengths-based and family-focused practice model.
