Are you a passionate, driven, and experienced social work team manager looking to expand your experience in practice with children and families with disabilities?
As a Team Manager within the Supporting Disabled Children’s Service, the successful candidate will work closely with the Transitions Team, colleagues in the Preparing for Adulthood Service, and a range of health, education, and voluntary organisations. The role is guided by an Outstanding Practice Framework, ensuring that families remain at the centre of the work.
About the Role
The Team Manager will champion anti-racist and anti-oppressive practices, ensuring that services are equitable and transformative for children and families from diverse backgrounds. The role will include:
- Allocating work and monitoring team performance.
- Supporting the development and well-being of the team.
- Managing case allocation and understanding the unique needs of children and young people.
The Team Manager will play a crucial role in developing services that meet each child’s needs and will work closely with multi-agency partners to ensure best practices are followed.
Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- A Social Work qualification with Social Work England membership.
- Completion of the ASYE Year.
- Leadership and management experience.
- Proven experience working across voluntary and statutory agencies with knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance.
- A passion for working with disabled children and their families.
- An innovative and creative approach to delivering services.
- A strong understanding of ‘Keeping Children Safe, Helping Families Thrive’ and a commitment to the Outstanding Practice Framework.
