Location: Greater Reading Area
Job Type: Full-time (Locum and Permanent roles available)
Salary: £44,648 - £49,418 (includes £8000 annual market supplement)
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Child Protection Social Worker to join the team across the Greater Reading Area. In this role, you will work with children and families from diverse backgrounds, supporting those at risk of exploitation and abuse. Your focus will be on safeguarding children by assessing risks, developing protection plans, and working collaboratively with multi-agency professionals to achieve the best outcomes for vulnerable children.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a varied caseload of child protection cases involving children at risk of exploitation.
- Conduct assessments and deliver comprehensive safeguarding plans in line with statutory guidelines.
- Engage with families from diverse communities, ensuring cultural competence in practice.
- Work collaboratively with health, education, police, and other relevant agencies to safeguard children.
- Attend child protection conferences, core groups, and court proceedings, providing clear and professional reports.
- Build strong relationships with children and families to promote their safety and well-being.
- Ensure timely interventions and support services are in place to reduce risks and promote positive outcomes.
Requirements:
- Qualified Social Worker with a valid Social Work England registration.
- Proven experience in child protection, including handling complex cases involving exploitation.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures in safeguarding children.
- Strong assessment, communication, and report-writing skills.
- Ability to work effectively within multi-agency teams and handle high-pressure situations.
- A commitment to anti-discriminatory practice and working with families from diverse backgrounds.
